The COVID-19 pandemic was an unprecedented crisis that tested the resilience of people worldwide. In response, Smiles Foundation stepped up with unwavering dedication, becoming a lifeline for countless individuals and families in dire need. We provided thousands of free N95 masks to frontline workers, delivered oxygen cylinders to critical patients gasping for breath, and distributed medical kits to those unable to access basic healthcare. Our team also set up COVID ward rooms, supplied PPE kits, and ensured oximeters were readily available to monitor health conditions. Every action taken was driven by our commitment to saving lives and supporting our communities in their darkest hours, proving that even in the most difficult times, compassion and care can prevail.
During the challenging period of COVID-19, Smiles Foundation worked tirelessly to support people in need. The foundation provided free N95 masks, oxygen cylinders, medical kits, PPE kits, COVID ward rooms, and oximeters to ensure that essential resources were accessible to those affected. Their dedicated efforts helped many navigate the pandemic with greater safety and care, reflecting their commitment to public health and community well-being.
In response to the surge in COVID-19 cases in Turuvekere, Tumkur district, Smiles Hospitals donated 5 oxygen concentrators in the presence of retired SP Mr. Gangadhar and other medical officers, providing much-needed support to the overwhelmed healthcare system.
The foundation donated 1,000 medical kits and oxygen concentrators to the Dasarahalli zone, helping to address the critical shortage of medical supplies. Additionally, 500 medical kits were provided to the primary health center at Dasarahalli, and 20 oxygen concentrators were distributed at a community care center. Smiles Foundation also distributed 90 oximeters to monitor the health of those affected.
To enhance emergency medical response capabilities, Smiles Foundation donated two ambulances to Kolar town, Karnataka, ensuring timely transportation for COVID-19 patients in critical condition.
The foundation distributed PPE kits, sanitizers, medical kits, and oximeters at Ward No. 70 in Rajgopal Nagara. Similar distributions were carried out in Hegganahalli, providing medical kits, N95 masks, sanitizers, and oximeters to the local community.
Smiles Foundation inaugurated the Ward War Room No. 71 in Hegganahalli and the COVID Triage Center at Shettihalli, Ward No. 12, to better manage patient care and response efforts. Additionally, the foundation addressed the challenges faced by booth-level officers in Shettihalli, Ward No. 14, Dasarahalli zone.
The foundation provided medicines and COVID care kits for patients in home isolation, ensuring they had access to essential medical supplies while recovering at home.
Dr. Parameshwara visited the 150-bed COVID care facility at Dasarahalli, Bengaluru, which was established by Smiles Foundation to provide comprehensive care to COVID-19 patients.
In collaboration with SMILES Gastroenterology and Day to Day Health, Smiles Foundation launched a 10-day COVID home care package, including all essential medical services to support patients recovering at home.
